Book Review: The Bridge
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Author: Karen Kingsbury
This would have been the perfect book to read around Thanksgiving/Christmas time, but unfortunately for me – it was April!
Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, despite it being set in a different time of year. This was a pretty simple book, with an almost predictable ending, however i still found the book very interesting and it kept me going to the end.
What I loved about this book was the message it conveyed: Despite everything that was thrown at Charlie Barton, mostly things outside of his control, God still turned everything around for his glory. Not only did he turn the situation around for Charlie, but through the circumstances that Charlie faced, it brought others home to where they were meant to be. God’s purposes are never single faceted and his timing is perfect!
Another thing I enjoyed about this book was that it was a relatively short story – I was able to read it in a day which was a bonus. So if you’re looking for a good holiday story, this is definitely one to pick up!
